The 1990s gave audiences a huge variety of cinema options. From the action-packed features to the angsty coming-of-age teen dramas, to the slap-stick comedy, there was no shortage of memorable scenes.
Many actors were just getting their start in the 90s. There was a huge rise in child stars and shows on networks like Nickelodeon. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson, Jonathon Taylor Thomas, and the Lawrence Brothers became household names.
There was also a big grunge scene which contributed to a large group of young adult actors starting their careers as the troubled or the dark and mysterious character. River Phoenix, Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, and Fairuza Balk defined this period.
